Londoners try pond skimming at the ‘Icebreaker City Skim’

Potters Fields Park next to London Bridge was transformed into a snow slope last weekend for London's first-ever urban pond skim.
On Saturday 11 October, Londoners turned out to try pond skimming – most typically seen at the end of the season in ski resorts.
The 'Skim City' event was created by icebreaker - the New Zealand merino wool clothing brand - to mark its 30th anniversary.
Set against the backdrop of Tower Bridge, the slope was made with 70 tonnes of real snow, imported from The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead that morning.
