Netflix is turning its lens toward alpine skiing with a brand-new documentary on Mikaela Shiffrin, one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the sport, with 101 World Cup wins to her name.
According to Ski Chrono, the streamer plans an intimate exploration of Shiffrin's life and career.
While an official release date has not yet been announced, the project is expected to cover Shiffrin's journey from her teenage breakthrough on the World Cup circuit to her most recent triumphs, capturing not only her competitive achievements but also the personal challenges she has faced along the way.
The cameras reportedly followed Shiffrin through her return to competition after a harrowing crash at Killington in late 2024. That injury left her sidelined for weeks and forced her to confront both physical pain and mental hurdles.
The documentary is expected to spotlight her recovery, her candid reflections on pressure and self-doubt, and the resilience required to climb back to the top.
It will also cover the personal heartbreak she endured in 2021, when her father, Jeff, died suddenly and the period after that when she considered walking away from skiing altogether, as well as her relationship with Norwegian downhill racer, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, which started the same year.
