Hi guys
Just thought I'd let you know the latest from the budget airlines if you are thinking of flying into Geneva or Chambery this year. Some of our previous guests have just booked the early flights and taken their chances on accommodation - which is worth a try if you like flying by the seat of your pants. Anyway here is the info - there are some bargains to had and some new routes on offer. Easyjet (www.easyjet.co.uk) are offering return flights from £38.98 incl tax (which would be perfect for a 3 nights/3 full day ski, Mon-Thurs midweek break in March). Flybe (www.flybe.com) have announced new routes to Geneva and Chambery from Birmingham, Exeter, Norwich and Southampton. Bmibaby (www.bmibaby.com) are offering flights to Geneva from Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff and Manchester from only £38.38 return incl taxes . Flyglobespan (www.flyglobespan.com) are this year offering Edinburgh to Geneva or Stansted to Chambery for £38.18 incl taxes in Jan. JET2 (www.jet2.com) are also flying to Chambery from Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle this coming season. Chambery is just over an hour from La Clusaz and us (www.gravite.co.uk) plus it is perfect for self catering guests in any of the nearby resorts as some of the big car rental operators are based at the airport www.avis.com www.europcar.com www.hertz.com. This year we may be able to transfer you from Chambery, if you are thinking of joining us for a catered ski weekend, midweek or 7 night break which starts and ends on a Monday or Thursday, in March and April. Just send us an email to see if it's possible and it could save you a fortune on your flights! Wherever you fly from there are loads of bargains to be had, so don't delay book now - the earlier you book the better the deal! |
Hi guys
Just thought I would tell you that we are having the most bizzare weather here in La Clusaz! The 4th/5th of May we had the mountain bikes out all ready to and hit the slopes and the weather was a balmey 24-26 dgrees. Then Tuesday 9th we woke up to 4inches of snow!! And it's coming down in buckets today!! (check out the website for a webcam pic - www.gravite.co.uk) So it's out with the skis again and off we go trekking up to the peaks which still have a good snow base and now FRESH POWDER!! Or maybe we should stick with the original plan and go SNOW biking. Talk about an extended season!!!! www.gravite.co.uk |
Hi Ash,
As mentioned above, La Clusaz has a wide variety of runs to suit both beginners and more advanced skiers. There are also some lovely tree-lined runs affording spectacular views over the Aravis mountain range. The resort itself has a genuine traditional French feel to it, but still has plenty of lively bars to sustain your apres-ski needs! January is a great time to come too. Good snow, quiet pistes and no lift queues! For more info on La Clusaz and our chalet offerings, take a look at www.gravite.co.uk or contact us directly if you have any specific questions we can help with. Cheers, graviteski |
Fancy a late summer bank holiday break?
£125pp for a 3 night catered break in the fab Aravis mountains this August. Great offers for September and October too !!!! Check out www.gravite.co.uk for info and further great spring and summer bike/walk deals. |
Have you had a look at La Clusaz. It's a fab resort for beginners as there are nursery slopes in a number of different locations, especially some lovely long tree-lined green runs. So you don't end up doing the same one all the time.
There are also some very good english speaking instructors (even in the ESF). We can recomend some if you are interested. The apres ski is very good and the town has loads of good restaurants, bars and clubs. It is also a lot cheaper than the bigger resorts - especially for lift passes, beer and mountain restaurant meals. www.gravite.co.uk |
Where are you skiing? Most ski resorts you can get prices from the main tourist info website for the town. Some resorts you can also and you can pre-order via the sites too. I know La Clusaz and Flaine have this facility.
If not you can usually get the passes at the the 'caisse' at the main lifts. You just need to do a google search on where you are going. Let me know where it is and I'll see what I cna find for you if you want. www.gravite.co.uk |
