Hi

We can offer some 4 night dates for you weekend or mid week in the fab resort of La Clusaz. The resort is only an hour from geneva so it's a quick and easy transfer up the mountain which is all included in our prices. These start from £275pp.

The weekend dates in March we still have available are: 2-5; 9-12;16-19 and 23-26th.

Take a look at www.gravite.co.uk for more info or contact us direct dave@gravite.co.uk

Hi Sally

I have asked around and the general concensus was:
The Alp is excellent, but probably as expensive as the other two

The Montagne is pretty good, as are Les Airelles and Les Sapins.Although they will only do half board in high season.

For B&B, La Ferme is pretty good, and dead convenient for the slopes.

I hope this helps.

Where to stay in Cervinia

Hi

Anybody know of any large chalets or small family run (but nicely decorated) hotels in Cervinia?

A bunch of us are thinking of going there on a pre-season ski at the beginning of December, as it's only a few hours drive away. But, all the accomodation I have found so far looks a bit dodgy!
I would be glad of some persoanl feedback.

Snow on the peaks!

I couldn't believe it when I woke up and found a dusting of snow on the Aravis peaks out of the window this morning :!:

Hopefully we will get a decent webcam pic later if the cloud cover eases.

J2ski you were right - spot on snow predictions down to 2200m!

Hi Sally

I am afraid I don't know many of the hotels in La Clusaz except The Alpen Roc and The Beauregard where we have collected and dropped off clients friends before. I will ask around for you though and re-post my findings. Some of the other expats out here may know a bit more.

Hi Sally

La Clusaz has loads of different accomodation options, so it really depends what you are looking.

There are quite a few hotels in the town centre , the best ones are the Hotel Beauregard, and Alpen Roc, although there are some smaller family run hotels. Take a look at the tourist office website for details on these http://www.laclusaz.com/index.jsp?c=10506

Alternatively there are loads of self catered flats in the town centre, although they tend to be quite small for what you pay for. just be carefull if you do go down this route as some of the cheaper ones are described as being in La Clusaz but are over in the Medassier section of La Clusaz which is some 6k away.

There are a number of small self catered chalets to rent but these tend to be 5-10minutes outside of the town centre. Take a look at http://www.francechalet.co.uk for some english owned and run flats and chalets or http://www.gpilaclusaz.info for some french privately owned appartments - they tend to be cheaper or http://www.aravis-vacation.com/?lng=en which lists quite a few others in the area.

However, if you want to stay in an english run catered chalet - there are about 3 of us in La Clusaz itself. http://www.snowlife.co.uk are the closest to town, is a fantastic location, lovely accommodation and it is run by a lovely couple Simon and Lisa. However, their chalet is usually booked up a year in advance.

Then a bit further out of town (5 minutes up the La Clusaz valley) are http://www.chaletmaxim.com/ and us http://www.gravite.co.uk/
Both chalets sleep up to 14 and we both drive guests to and from the slopes in the morning and do an end of day pick up. We still have availability for 7 nights on the 6th-13th Jan and 5 days on the 20-25th Jan and I think Steve and Jannelle who run chalet maxim have the 3rd of Jan free for 4 nights or a few rooms left on the 7th for 7 nights.

So it really depends on what you want.

If you need any more info don't hesitate to drop me an email.

Cheers Dave

Hi Jo

Just found your posting.

Powderhound is right the snow is good at this time of the year. the last two years we have had huge dumps around the 2oth, so it's been fab skiing. Also as suggested the slopes are nice and empty as the Frenchies wait until the Feb half term hols to do their skiing. You just get a few extra for the weekends, but nothing overwhelming and it makes for a good weekend crowd in the resort bars.

We have space from the 20th onwards in our catered chalet http://www.gravite.co.uk/catered.php for the 3 of you for as many days as you want. We have a party of 6 guys in on the 25th, and then another group in on the 29th. Drop me an email (via the website) and I'm sure we can work out a good post whistler price.

Cheers Dave

P.s Angelwingz la Clusaz is a fab place to learn and we offer some good beginner packages too!http://www.gravite.co.uk/hireprices.php#learner
The snow stays late in La Clusaz, especially at La Balme and there is often big dumps of snow late in April. So if you want to get a last ski in before the end of the season why not join us for some end of season adventure and celebrations. £350pp for 7 nights in our catered chalet which includes transfers, 6 x evening meals with wine, breakfasts, afternoon cakes and in-resort transport and a few party nights! There are two dates available this offer 13-20 Apr and 20-27th Apr.
