Compact Cameras

If you're back in La Clusaz again, the Roxy Quicksilver shop in the village are now hiring out GoPro Hero 3 helmet cams for 30 euros a day (cheaper day rate for additional days rental)

If searching for a camera, check the minimum operating temperature in the handbook, as I've had the LCD screen on my DSLR freeze and shatter before now!
Spot on! Been snowing here in La Clusaz for the past 3 days and still going :) The upper part of La Balme will be open for some early season descents this weekend, and I anticipate they will start to open more of the area if those temperatures stay low and that extra snow arrives next week?

Can I add La Clusaz to the list? At 167 euros for the 6-day pass that makes it the cheapest French resort on the list.

...or 177 euros for the Aravis area pass (twice the ski area >250km of pistes)
This was the intended route for the Junior comp - right-side of Becc des Rosses where the main event was held.

Shame the weather cancelled it out for them. :(

Followed the live stream of the main event - some great freeride skiing but mighty relieved to see Ludo Lovey escape with just a dislocated shoulder after his heart-stopping tumble 400 metres down two rock faces!

More info here...
Some resorts have a general town notice board outside the mayor's office where longer term rentals, job positions, small ads etc. are posted, or maybe even the local supermarkets? I'm sure that Morzine have if you were to contact them directly, you may be able to get them to post a notice for you detailing what you are looking for?
Can't imagine that the decision to delay the main event was to allow the snowpack to stabilize if they were prepared to let the junior event go ahead on this day? Although admittedly they won't be skiing the same lines as the pros.

Probably more likely that the decision was made because the weather conditions and visibility is looking better for the Sunday? Great news that it is going ahead anyway and that they are streaming the event live on their site!

April skiing in Italy?

Does anyone have any info on resorts which are open towards the end of the season in Italy.

We are thinking of getting away for a few days skiing between the 11-18th April , and thought Monte Rosa maybe worth a visit.

Does anyone know if it's still open at this time of year?

If not has anyone heard of any others which would still have good off-piste skiing!

Thanks for all your help.
