HI Jobster

We have some new self catered apartments in St Jean de Sixt, La Clusaz this year. Each apartment sleeps 6-8 and have a good ratio of ensuite bathrooms. I haven't started marketing them yet so they are still available for New Year.

The 2 bedroomed apartment (with a pull down bed in the lounge) is priced at £230pp and the 3 bedroomed Penthouse (with open fire) at £315pp for 7 nights at New Year. They are fab apartments with mountain views and south facing balconies. They are within a couple of minutes walk of the bars and restuarants, supermarket, ski hire shops etc. And as you know La Clusaz or le Grand Bornand are both good for skiers/boarders of all levels.

Take a look at http://www.gravite.co.uk/stjeanchalet.php and email me if you're interested.

Looking for somewhere a bit different this year?

Have you heard of La Clusaz? No not many have, because the Franch and Swiss are trying to keep it all to themselves.

La Clusaz is part of the Aravis ski area which offers over 220km of well groomed pistes, which are fab for beginners, superb for intermediates and challenging for advanced skiers! The resort has it all - pretty wooden chalets, towering mountains, good snow and fantastic food.

We offer accommodation in well appointed self-catered or homely comfortable catered chalets at affordable prices in La Clusaz.
Prices start from just £60pp for 7 nights!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! - Don't follow the crowd, experience what skiing in France should be about.

Hi

La Clusaz is a fab resort for beginners and offers stacks of non-skiing activities to do in the aftrenoons if you have had enough skiing - ice skating, swimming (indoor and outdoor heated pools), snow shoe walks, dog sled rides, horse drawn carriage rides etc etc.

We can offer self catered or catered accommodation depending on your budget and as it's a family time of year there are usually loads of other kids in our catered chalet - a bit of company for your kids and a chance to relax for you.

We can also book everything you may need as a beginner, in advance of your stay, lessons, passes and ski hire so everything is a s easy and as enjoyable as possible.

Hi Blaze

Have you thought about La Clusaz? It's only an hour from Geneva so easy to get to and cheap flights with about 4 different operators.

It's got some fab slopes for beginners, gentle and long, and some exhilirating slopes plus fab off-piste for for advanced skiing/boarding.

There are loads of bars and a couple of clubs to amuse yourselves in too - a big dude scene going on with all the professional free-style skiers/boarders who hang out here every year!

We can offer catered or self catered options from £102pp for 7 nights - take a look at www.gravite.co.uk for more info or drop me a private message via this forum.

Cheers, Dave
Hi Mel

I would avoid the middle of Feb if I was you - can you make it the end of Jan or end of Feb? The slopes tend to busy, which is very distracting when you are learning to board as you get paranoid about taking the snaking kids out! Plus all the good instructors are taken up with kids ski schools! As the French and English kids on half term.

We can help though with your wish list

1. Good snowboarding - no probs loads of good snow and good routes especially off-piste, if your guy is a powderhound. We offer FREE guiding too if he wants some company.

2. Snowboard school - we can book you win with some lovely good english speaking instructors, who are fab on private 1 to1 lessons.

3. Resort to have bars - loads of them here in La Clusaz, plus we can even pick you up at the end of the night when the busses have stopped running!

4. Not too expensive - no probs we offer catered or self catered depending on your budget.

5. Possibly somewhere that is good to go for a long weekend - we are only an hour from Geneva (so cheap flights) and can offer a 3/4 night weekend, we are fairly flexible on change-over days for both the catered and self catered.

I hope this all helps?

Hi Gareth

Are you still looking?
Sorry we've come on board a bit late to this discussion. But we would definitely recommend la Clusaz.

We used to go on a lot of ski breaks and always looked for short transfer times to the resorts. So we have tried most of the resorts in the Portes de Soleil, Chamonix and Grand massif.
We loved the skiing in Flaine but we have now settled (yes to live) in La Clusaz as it's such a fab resort and offers everything we want - it's picturesque as well as good skiing!

We now offer catered or self catered accommodation in and around La Clusaz as well as flexible change over days (except in the peak holiday weeks) so a Thurs to Thurs is no problem at all. Check out www.gravite.co.uk for more info or give us a shout on a PM.
