Some custom foot beds and boot work.
A pair of cat tracks to save my ski boot heels from car parks. A boot dryer. Two thermal turtle necks from Sierra TP. Two pairs of socks from T J Maxx. A couple of kitchen cutting boards to make risers for my bindings. Some double sided carpet tape to hem up my ski pants. A can of tool dip to repair my gloves. A new helmet. Definitely in economy mode. |
much of the skiing in the US is done at smaller ski areas. This is a great video about Montana's small ski areas.

I'm with bandit on this one too. The smaller your side cut radius, the more you have to be careful and slightly edge the skis one way or the other. Having said that, you do eventually build up faster reactions to what your skis are doing, but in flat light it's best to play safe and edge.

Wearing fleece, and hardly ever anything else for the next four months. It really feels like the ski season now, but in April the feel of denim next to my skin reminds me that it's all over.

Sounds like the smart thing to do. Think of how much stronger and fitter you'll be. You'll have much more fun.

I see two old ladies in their late eighties skiing almost every day Dec through Mar.
