I just popped in to my local convenience store for something (ok, wine) and there was a distinct smell of what I recognised to be melted wax, naturally this reminded me of skiing (but I doubt there was anyone waxing their skis out the back of the Co-Op).
What reminds you of skiing, BEFORE you actually leave the country for your holibobs/seasons?

I really don't know how people can do that. Early drinking that is.
It makes me feel a little queasy to see people knocking back pints of beer at 8am with breakfast at the airport. I just don't get that at all.
Sometimes i get a smell of disinfectant or some other cleaning product that has that distinct scent that most holiday apartments seem to use...that gets me every time.

First pint in the airport - no matter what time of day it is. I'm not on holiday til I've had a beer!
Specifically ski related though would be: ski Sunday theme music, anyone mentioning the words "fondue" or "tartiflette", the heartbeat skip when the preview brochures from Inghams and Crystal hit the doormat and finally anyone saying "pass the bread".
The last one is just for you two Nelly...

My mrs is reminded by the alarm tone on my iPhone.
We used it on our first ski trip and it went off at 7am everyday.
