I have nothing against boarders in general, although some people are a bit wreckless on their boards but AS mant people are on their skies!!
Its down to the people that ride boards/skis that are responsible for their actions, not that fact that one rides a different thing to the other. |
Yeah global warming is very annoying, and we may already be starting to see the affects of it!! Having said that North America has had a brilliant start to the season, with some resorts having been open for nearly 6 weeks now!!

Yeah Sunshine is amazing but the only problem is the lack of accommodation up there. Sunshine Inn is the only place up there and its probably booked most of the time, and if its not, you cant go into Banff for the evening as its very much hotel based.
I have heard good things about Kicking Horse to, although i have never been there. Red Mountain (Rossland) is supposed to be brilliant to, and its one of the less known ones. Similar with Fernie, lots of snow, reasonably close to the lifts and not very busy! |
I'd recommend Big White for several reasons. I haven't actually been there myself but i know quite a few people that have, and i will be going for 3 months next winter :D Silver Star, a nearby resort to Big White is also very similar with a little more challenging terrain as well as the easy beginner stuff.
The whole village (Big White) is basically ski in/out (main street is a pisted ski run!!), accommodation is great and the snow is excellent. Infact its known throughout many people for its amazing powder. One of the resorts with the best snow in Canada. Not the easiest of resorts to get to from Britain, will require a flight from London to either Vancouver or Calgary and from one of those two on to Kelowna. On the other hand somewhere like Whistler has got some doorstep skiing although not all of it is. Obviously Whistler is brillant as i am sure you know. |

THERES THE SNOW :D :D :D :D I am not going to Passo Tonale but i wish i was!!! but the snow is coming all over Europe soon, so there is light at the end of the tunnel :D I'm all excited now, like a little boy at christmas  lol |
Awesome story!!! A skiers dream, once in a lifetime experience unless you have very good contacts!!!
Cheers for the good reading, guess what I will be dreaming about tonight  |
I will always say St Anton for the nightlife, although there are other great ones in that catagory. Only problem is that St Anton isnt very good for beginners as its got a lot of tough terrain. Although beginners are limited, its worth a try tho cos its a great resort.
ps. sorry, i cant help you with Pas de la Casa cos i have never been there! Ben |

Damn i wish i was in the Canadian Rockies right now!!!
Plenty of snow, very very cold (Banff -25c soon!!). Far cry from the warm world of Europe. Is this a sign of climate change or just an unusually start to a season?? La Clusaz is set to be 16c early next week  Crazy weather, and bad news for the Alps!! |
