La Clusaz open this weekend!
Started by User in France, 5 Replies
Quick update to say that La Clusaz is opening the full resort on 13th December (a week early) due to the great snow conditions. Most of the resort is open this weekend (6/7 Dec) too, along with the World Cup cross-country event.

Add that to the great snow forecast for the next couple of days and it looks like being one of the best starts to the season since...last year!

Also, I can confirm that the Croix-Fry area is back in the La Clusaz area after its year in the wilderness last year.

I quite agree - a very good airport.

I went back to UK a few weekends ago with Ryan Air 50€ return and parked the car went straight into the security check then straight on the plane - done and dusted in 10 minutes car seat to plane seat - awesome! I love this on-line checkin.

Due to the fantastic early season snow that most of the alps have been receiving over the past few days/weeks, La Clusaz have just announced that they will be opening the La Balme area this weekend - 3 weeks ahead of schedule! :D (admin - see you in the La Balme car park at 8.30am :wink )

The cross-country tracks at Confins have also been opened today gearing up for the world cup event on the 6/7th December.

More info can be found on the La Clusaz tourist info website
Due to popular demand we have opened up Chalet Pre-Fleuri for self catered or catered pre-christmas short breaks, so all you snow-hounds can get away for a cheeky ski break before sitting around the xmas tree with the relatives!

Plus if you haven't got your loved ones a present yet - it's a perfect gift so they have a stress free christmas!

Anyway we are offering
3 nights or 4 nightsfrom the 19-24th or 24-27th December for just £75pp per night for a self catered stay and £100pp per night for a catered stay
Or if you can make 7 nights 20-27 December is also available at the same rate

Take a look at http://www.gravite.co.uk/stjeanchalet.php for more information on the chalet which can sleep up to 14. And http://www.gravite.co.uk/offers/details.php for info on the prices.
Group discounts are also available.

There is stacks of snow already, so hopefully we will to see you in a few weeks time! -

Personally I would avoid the package deals and find a smaller chalet where they can give you more personal service. The tour operators tend to treat you like a number and you just don't get one to one service.
It's worth getting it right on your first holiday, otherwise you may be put off in the future

Most smaller chalets offer a more personal service and can sort out your transfers, ski hire and lessons for you plus give you some personal advice.

We do in La Clusaz so I imagine there are some similar operators in Morzine.
We even fit your kit at the chalet (so no mad Frenchies to deal with or plastic to hand over) and meet your instructors with you on the first day so you don't get lost amongst the crowd.

Good luck - Dave

No too sure about the resorts you mentioned but I think the camping stays open in Le Grand Bornand so you can hook up. Otherwise people just park up in La Balme car park, or near the Cret du Merle or Champs Bleu in La Clusaz for a few days before they move off.
