This one is me in late Dec/early Jan in a bit of powder one day (its also my display pic used on here, so nothing new :lol: )

Tremblant would be best for a non skier. Never been there though so cant comment first hand.

Anywhere in Canada will get seriously cold :lol:

Nah a high European resort would be ok, and on a good early season like the last one most would be fine. Canada though is guaranteed (virtually) to be very snowy. I was in Big White all last season, Christmas included, and it was dumping until about mid January. I remember skiing knee deep powder on Christmas day, was pretty good!!!! All Western Canadian resorts were the same, and will all be great snow wise.

Only been to Big White though so can only comment first hand on there. Great place for any level of skier, beginners included. Ski school is great, if I was going back there this year which i very nearly was you may have ended up with me as your instructor :mrgreen: . Big White has an emphasis on kids, and cater very well for all ages.

Yeah id always buy new, mainly because i wouldnt wanna wear a jacket that some other person has got all hot and sweaty it! :lol:

I'd still take lessons on a dry slope or one of the snowdomes (preferably a snowdome if there is one within reach!), may be a lot worse than proper mountain skiing but the principles are the same. Spend a day mastering stopping and turning here in the UK, and thats an otherwise wasted day saved when you are out in resort!! Means you get more time on the real runs and more proper learning time!!

YOU CANNOT OVERSTATE THE VALUE OF HAVING PROPER LESSONS IN RESORT.

Snow-dome instructors over here do some crazy things (so I hear) and charge a fortune for it.

Trying to teach yourself would be equally mad and possibly quite dangerous too. So please, do it properly and you will get maximum enjoyment from this wonderful sport.

Yeah Skidaddle is spot on!! Sure many others would agree as well. Skiers who teach themselves put themselves and everyone else in danger, skiing with no real control and although they may be able to make it down the mountain quickly, they have no idea how they are doing it!!

34 is a bit hot for me!

Mid to late 20s is fine, anything more and it annoys me!

Prawn cocktail is awesome!!! Cheese and onion is good to. and the McCoys flame grilled steak...mmmmmmm :D
