Does anyone else think North Face has become the modern equivalent of Rodeo and Nevica?!!!!

I don't know much about Nevica apart from the fact that that blue/green combo he has been wearing is going cheap in sportsdirec shops, which isn't usually a good sign.

Rodeo was C&A's own brand, and IMO complete garbage, but served a purpose back in the day.

So I'm not quite sure what you mean about North Face stuff. I've had quite a bit of it over the years now, and currently ski in a North Face outer shell, or a different softshell, and have a pair of North Face sallos as well. I think its well made, good quality, long lasting and fashion conscious. They do, of course, also do a lot of mid range stuff which you see people using as all weather jackets back here in the UK - lots of black waterproofs etc, but again decent quality.

Its also not cheap to buy, whereas the 2 other brands you mentioned are.

Personally, I think North Face in the main is a good buy. Not the cheapest, but look at stuff like Dare2B, Trespass or 5 Seasons if you want cheap and not so good quality. I'd buy North Face gear again and again personally.

Have you had particular bad experience with some of their stuff?

OK,that play on words, considering we're talking about ski clothing, was deliberate, right ?

+1 for North Face sallos - I've skied in a pair of Bonfire snowboard trousers for the last 7 years which still have plenty of life in them but are now miles too big. So this year I went mad and bought myself a pair of North Face sallos - £110 in the sale!! But worth it - at -15 I could squeeze a pair of longjohns underneath too so I was warm.

Really pleased with them and as I am no dedicated follower of fashion I intend to get my money's worth over the next 10 years....assuming they still fit!

Now I just need a jacket...I started wearing Husband's spare jacket 8 years ago as a stop gap and I'm still wearing it - I've never actually got round to buying myself one.

If you're prepared to sell your surplus ski gear and you have some salopettes, maybe you should send the OP a pm asking them their size, and if you have anything suitable you could maybe negotiate a mutually agreable price for it?

Ally, you will be pleased to know that I have given yes Given two pairs of Sallos to a charity shop today ..... save the something or other
