But had a great week

Not actually ice, TG, it is hardpack, butI know what you mean. I am currently having three pairs of skis edge sharpened!!! This is where I get my deliverance from buying my ski techie friend the odd beer!

Question for experienced Neiderau skiers....Heading there March 9th -16th, picked Neiderau because of the creche, first time away with a wee one. We've skied the skiwelt many times, but more recently wanted snow sure so went to Chamonix, Mayrhofen etc. Anyway, to get back to the question, is the light dusting Neiderau is getting now enough to get us past our March 16th time frame? The weather models are a little up and down, but I'm hoping the thaw won't start too early! I know no one can predict, but was hpoing someone might no something?!

Trust me. I have a house there. 2 or 3 years ago the last snow was on about January 20th (I remember as was just before my birthday) and they managed to drag the season out right to the bitter end. Niederau slopes are on the shaded side so frankly it's just not an issue. They have easily enough depth to last the season even if it never snows again.

The only real danger is warm weather and rain - THAT is what truly buggers things up. As long as it stays cold then you are sorted.

Personally I hate normal bashed pistes, as a boarder I live for powder, but the slopes are always at least usable in Niederau. Some people like skiing on pistes but it just bores me rigid without new snow.

Thanks MJ, great to know. Can the same be said for Inneralbach and Auffach? Westendorf is 12 mins away I believe, so while still low, also an option.

Its my wifes first trip in 2 years, so her expectation levels have me worried!

I guess we can always drive to Mayrhofen, 40 mins away!
