Hi Guys

Thanks for all wishes etc....really really grateful.

Rich is having a quadruple heart bypass on.....Friday 13th(!!!) February.

BUT! The surgeon has said that with the right fitness programme, we will catch the first snow next season, so if it falls in November, we will be there! He will be fully restored and probably fitter than me when all done.

Meanwhile, enjoy the season for us and stay safe!

Take Care guys

Jo xx

Hey all

Since I last posted on here re my hubby and I going away for rest of season, s h i t e has hit fan,and my hubby Rich, at 41, has had a heart attack and is in hospital. This may be a strange thread to start whilst this season is now completely out of the question, but we were wondering if anyone else out there has suffered a similar situation and if so, how long before you can ski and who the hell will insure you???? I am sure he should be concentrating on the fact that his heart just broke in front of us, but am also quite proud that his first question to the specialist was " Please tell me I`ll be able to ski again!!!"

Anyone been there, or know someone who has been there, as we are in completely new territory here, and I love my hubby more than anything, but skiing is our passion, and we are terrified that this is it for us!!! This is something he has asked me to ask, as the consultnats at the hospital are vague on the subject, and I suppose he is just scared...Thnaks in advance if anyone can offer ANY advice...J

To what Ross has said about moving to a ski " city", That`s the exact crossroads we`re at ie quality of life over money......!!And are SERIOUSLY considering selling up over here and living a "simple"....or "simpler! without the corporate wheel churning" life in the mountains....For those that already live this life, I am so so jealous!!
Chill Factore
Started by User in Ski Chatter
Decided to go to Chill Factore ( Manchester) for a little run out today ready for whatever trip we go on soon! There is nothing more satisfying than ( when safe!) straightlining down the slope, head to head against my best mate(me and her in my pic, she`s the giant, I`m the midget!). HOWEVER...There is nothing more embarrassing than taking each other out at the bottom, and getting a ski in the head. My best mate has given me a glorious shiner....! Serves us right, and don`t worry the slopes were empty when we did this, although the gallery at the bar was a tad full......! Exited rapidly stage left, and went to pub.....!! Great to be on the skis tho....raring to go!!!!
I am so not happy!!!!....

Looking at taking a month out ( but could be tempted to stay all season!!!), so think you`re right in trying to negotiate a self catering let out of resort.....Only been to Cervinia in Italy and you`re right about prices being better over there, been having a mooch around!!!

Aosta could be a good option as a base, so off to investigate that further.....

Thanks YET again for great advice , I`ll let you know where we decide to go and chillax!!!
