Well seeing as I can`t ski at a comedy store, I`m kind of willing to go the distance :)
Maybe see you there Gary! |
Been to ADH 3 times and last time was end of March 2010. Wouldn`t go that late again because of the South facing slopes......but I got a lovely tan, and had some great afternoons :)

Anyone else going to the Altitude Festival in Mayrhofen on 24th March??? Comedy and skiing is tempting me to get my wallet out :) Apologies if this has been asked already....I had a peak but couldn`t see anything! Looks like good fun though!!!! :-)

We have a friend who works out there, and he has said it`s not great to be honest. But you do have the option of getting the lift up to Avoriaz, and the bus goes right from the centre of Morzine every half hour to hour depending on time of day, so you may just have to go up there to find the better snow. Love Morzine though, so I hope you manage to find some okay skiing.

At this moment in time, think we will end up in Les Arcs. Went a couple of years ago and loved it, so if the snow falls as promises, will be there like TJ90 on the 26th. Well done on getting resort change ~ you should have a great time...... :)

This may not be the answer you want, but just had the same chat with a mate of ours who works in Avoriaz as we were thinking of popping over at the weekend (and staying in Les Gets or Morzine), and he said conditions are poor, but to be fair it is Spring skiing and sometimes to be expected this time of the season. As previous comment, head up to Avoriaz....they are due some snow towards back end of week so hopefully this will refresh what`s up there. There will always be somewhere to play, you just may have to work harder to find the best runs :)

I feel I have to comment on that as well Ally G. I was singled out by somebody on here, for daring to have an opinion on a topic that has become a very subjective, opinionated and indeed "uneducated" discussion. Please re-read the thread carefully and see where contradictory arguments are causing some people, like myself,to feel the need to ask for clarity on statements made. I don`t accept accusations on my person to go without redress or fairness of reply. One cannot say people have a "bee in their bonnet" about being "educated", when the author was the first person to mention the word educated, as if it was indeed an issue in the selection of bedfellows. And to be even more honest, if,as you say, you don`t want to cause discomfort on here, surely you could have been the better person by PM`ing Bandit rather than opening it up to the forum arena, therefore exacerbating and fuelling the fire. Just a thought :)

Am mildly intrigued how that says anything about me at all? Merely an observational statement based on written fact. Perhaps I shall leave out the jocular opinion next time:) As I said before, Happy Skiing!
