Barney,
Most skiers do not realize that they have a "dominate" side. You may be using one side more than other. Also skiing cramps often occurs due to low water intake. Another possible cause id too tight ski boots. Poor blood flow = poor oxygen to muscles. Hope this helps you. |
Looking for male top level skiers who love powder.
Renting house in Sandy, Utah. 2 male non-smokers. Share travel costs ( gas) . Share food. First up, last off slopes. Well accepted some "Scots" if they can provide 3 letters from; wife, neighbor, and skiing friend. First come first accepted. Sorry ladies this is a "all male ski trip" . |
Yes it annoys me to see persons buying such skis. They buy them more for "look" than performance.
I have just one pair that has such graphics and I did not even choose them. They were lent for testing and I loved them so much I bought them. Luckily they are fat fat powder skis so you never see them and I never tune them ,,that is sharpen edges. Keep away from such skis,,,,but sometimes you have no choice. |
Verbier ,,,and all skiers,
By all means check the DIN value before getting on snow,,,but also have technician check the REAR tension setting ! You can have the correct DIN setting,,,but if that rear tension pressure is not set correctly,,,,,off you go into the woods ! How is this done ? On all bindings you can move rear unit via a screw, a rail or a level ! This is done to create enough pressure on the heel to push ski boot forward on front toe piece! Too low pressure, boots will come off at smallest pressure Too much pressure,,,boots will never come off! On rental ( hire) skis there is a long track in the back and often when technician is in a hurry,,this unit is NOT placed correctly ! For skiers who want to check their own units see manuals or ask shop to tell you how to,,, There are several indications. On some the screw head must be flush to housing On some there is a range ( with lines) on base with a triangle as indicator! On some there is a window on side with a white line For a safe ski day check this ! Happy Summer every one!!! |
Just to keep you,,up to date;
I placed a ski in rain for two days! I then stored ski in garage for three days and rust began to form after two days! I received from company 200 samples which I am now testing! The first envelope which contains a dry wipe easily cleaned all base and ski edges! Some rust spots had to be removed using a rough plastic pad very much like one used for pots and pans ! The second envelope had a pad with little oil. Do not unfold pad since you can use this pad at least 10-15 times! Carefully wipe steel edges at a 45 degree angle so that you cover side and base parts! There does not seem to be ant damage to bases! I have taken an old ski and wiped all of base to see if there is damage! So far none ! I also asked a friend at university to do a more in-depth analysis on base to see if at microscopically level there is damage ! All seems fine ! As far as painters tape on edges, no problem to remove after two months on ski edges! The glue on tape does no cause high bond! Happy Summer all ! Pavel |
Geds,
I just tried this product 2 weeks ago ! I am getting from company a bulk order which I will test oh some skis! Will tell you results soon ! According to staff ,,there is very light oil in the wipe which has no effect on ski bases, however they have NOT done any serious experimentation. I will get some l oil ( before it is placed on wipe) and I will apply (liberally) to ski bases! In fact I wll apply several coats to see if; -bases change color -bases surface is damaged ,,etc,, At moment I would just wipe ski edges carefully so that bases are not touched greatly ! Hope this helps ! |
Bandit,
Thank you,,,,,I was sure I did not post video,,,,,,but did not dare "contest" Ian's post! Just saw video and was "inspired" to ski when I will reach "mature" age range ! Never too old to,,,,, |
