Many thanks. No i didn't want to get a chalet from an operator but felt they would be the best to guide me as they would need to do the same thing hunting for suitable chalets (unless they owned them outright)
So thanks - that's what I suspected would be the process, just looking on the agents site they didn't have anything on offer but perhaps like you said - they come back to you after several months. kind regards sarah |
I'm really desperate for some help really - my sources and searching has come to nothing.
Really simple request - I would like a chalet for the whole season, how the heck does one go about doing it? Most of the websites are for vacation rentals, the one seasonaire site seems to be mainly smaller accommodations and my searching the immobiliers in French hasn't yielded much either. If I wanted a chalet that slept 12 people, central location, biggish resort (Morzine ideally) how much of a deposit would they look for and what would the monthly rent look like? I would rather get it direct from the owner as from an operator they are marking it up anyway. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful! This would be for solo skiing holidays only so don't feel that I would be "yet another chalet operator" if you were going to pass on any info  Kind Regards Sarah |
actually it's not too bad. £100 difference but between 4 people - I would never try and squeeze 4 in a small car for 2.5 hours.
although will take your suggestions on board - it may work! |
yeah cool - i believe now a people carrier with the middle seat down is the best option and four on either side front and back. most people carriers do that nowadays don't they? will check with the hire company as you say but price are changing daily and really want to wait to get the best deal.
thanks for the advice! sarah |
need to hire a car from the airport - any makes or models that will fit 4 people and a board bag? (plus normal luggage)
Any hints? thanks! |
I have car space for 1-2 people (pref without equipment) from Geneva to LaPlagne 1800 (or anywhere en-route/close-by)
I'm picking last person up about 7:30pm from Geneva... Price negotiable... contact me if you would like a lift (ps we also have a few beds spare in the chalet if you would like to join our 14 strong group?) |
Funnily enough, last years trip is just below us on the board! Don't get confused.
This one is bigger and better. Huge hot tub, great big lounge and even more wisecracks, banter, comedy falls and dry cracker eating contests. For the more sedate among you - it's a cracking 3 course meal every night with wine (unlimted for a small charge) and curling in front of the log fire with a brandy There's a nice mix of skiers, boarders, guys and girls and some repeat guests from previous trips - so you know it's all good! Fingers crossed for some epic snow again! cheers all Sarah |
