which is exactly why, scousefly, my trip will include a packed lunch every day;

"The holiday will be a wee bit more special as I'm looking at personalising the catering due to the poor exchange rate. Rather than offering the huge sumptious freshly baked cakes every afternoon - I'll maybe just get some nice brownies and cookies from the supermarket to nibble on with a cuppa when you get back from skiing and instead offer a substantial packed lunch to take with you on the mountain. This will save you £10-£15 per day! You can even take plastic bottles of wine if you like.

Things like -

Tuna Pasta Salad. Freshly deep filled baguettes, Couscous
Good selection of fruit
Tracker bars or Granola Bars
Piece of cake
Nuts and seeds?

Nothing like crisps, yogurts etc just in-case those less stable on our feet crash a few times and crush it all! (That would be me!)"

I must have spent about £200 in one week just fedeing myself at lunchtime!

Anyone nipping up to Nevis this weekend?

need a car share either sat or sunday....

if anyone fancies it and doesn't have a car I can look into shared private bus and try and get some more takers.

let me know - desperate to go!

**yes sorry - didn't see the rest of the posts and the change of topic! so back on the OP's comment**

I get this all the time. In fact it's holding me back on improving my skiing.

i'm 31 and have a fantastic level of cardio fitness, just can't get past the burn! I am not a light person though - perhaps that's it.

how does that rock your theory!
ps Ross - this made me laugh out loud!! I've never heawrd anyone describe it better!

Ski-ing 1.n. the art of catching cold and going broke while rapidly heading nowhere at great personal risk."

I read a frankly disturbing web page on it. Grim.

just wondered if anyone had planted into one?
