The 5 Ski Mistakes 90% skiers do!

Frezywater,

I have an old house which I decorate depending on the seasons!

In Fall it is hay in front with corn stalks. Scarcrows, pumkins etc...

Spring it is flowers everywhere with hanging pots, wild flowers here and there. Pond etc....

Winter is Christmas decorations!

Since I have to use ladders I like to decorate before the huge snow storms come!
Yes in my area Christmas decorations are beginning to appear!

It also helps me not think about skiing!!!!!

Rossfra8,

You will have to ask ise since I am not sure what part of heaven he is at!

But I do appreciate the clean, neat tidy shop!

First I get Jan with his view,,now ise with his! They do not have a "heart" making us suffer like this!

Good for you ise! A happy man!

Rossfra8,

Excellent choice at Banff! very clean very well placed in village.I stayed there for 2 months once and once you get to know staff and skiers there are many many activities in various hotels that you are invited to!

The hot springs are just up the road! The most exclusive hotel ( Banff Springs) is a mere 200 meters away!

Parking is great and bus stops at door!

Just watch out for the Elk which come up to door to munch on branches etc...They are huge and since you are in a National Park they are not afraid of you!

You will have great time

Thank ou all for your ret pictures.
irst one comment. Where I live I can get some round pipe insulation sections which are about 1 meter in length! They have a cut so that you can spread the rounded parts to allow pipes in the center!

May I suggest that all the metal supports could have these sponge-like tubes!

Now for the real reason for my message! I showed the pictures to my wife and kids since I was hearing "rumblings" about all the skis I have! You all "validated" that a serious skier must have "several" (I use the term loosely) skis just in case!

My marriage is back on the track now that she saw how others "collect" skis also!

Thank you!

Jan,

That was not fair. While you have lots of snow here I still have grass! Today I collected 15 bags of leaves!
Cleaned my pond and installed heater for Koi fish, cleaned out Summer gardening tools, set up Winter bird feeder!

This is called getting my ski fix! Not as good as skiing but at least I can imagine skiing there!

Oh yes I also decorated my house for Christmas,,,,so there

Hamish,
No, No, not a river a stream! A mountain stream!
Re-reading my message I do sound a bit too "eastern" Zen!
I am far from this!

All I wanted to say ( very poorly it seems) is that the concept of flow is an excellent "image" to have when skiing!

It evokes harmony, adjustment, fluidity, clean even motions and seem to "blend" into the nature!

I will end this Zen like message by pointing out that effective skiing is NOT forcing one's intentions but rather to let the skis flow with the terrain!
