Don`t worry at the moment about any snow forecasts or reports....far too early to tell...can happen overnight..If this conversation is happening on Christmas day, then we may all be in bother!! Honestly though. don`t panic too much pal, spent the last 5 years flapping and never been a need yet. Hopefully, the only worry we will have will be a couple of non skiing days due to a massive white out!!!

Right my friends...

I have to go on Saturday......Have flights to Innsbruck and Geneva, but must book accommodation in the next 24 hours!! Red wine has failed in giving me the answer, so where shall I go! Answers on a postcard please!!!

Thanks All for any advice!

Hmmm...seem to have seen a thread like this before!! Nobody is ever going to agree who or what are more dangerous on the slopes, I got taken out by an inexperienced boarder last year and broke my ankle, others have been cracked by skiiers and put in hospital, so think we`re all quits here in the "lessons to be learnt" stakes.

However, Real Pol, just be careful when you`re calling somebody an idiot yet saying it`s a fact that you get sloppy skiiers/boarders, who are usually kids who don`t know any better. If they don`t know better they shouldn`t be on the slopes and I personally do not see age as an excuse for poor mountain etiquette. And sorry, disagree, they should know better if everyone else set a good example! Catch 22...could be any age, any discipline, any Nationality....if you`re going to be reckless and discourteous ...you will be. Sure I`ll be shot down in flames for this but hey ho!

Where to go for snow - Canada?

Running the risk of Pavelski`s wrath, I too would recommend Mont Tremblant, mainly for the beginners as the long green runs mean easy mileage on which to gain confidence....Most accommodation is ski in ski out and agree with the other post, the resort has a really nice feel. Just watch out that there`s no industrial action as this was the case last year and getting jeered by a load of French stikers at 8am, isn`t much fun!!!But other than that it should fit the bill!
Ha ha !! Could be sobbing in my porridge next week then if the predicted snow doesn`t come. Note to self, stop waxing skis and practice a suitable crying face!! Blow it ..what will be will be, just about to book obergurgl for Saturday morning......then again, may just open a bottle of wine and wait to see if tomorrows dump actually lands.. what a painful start to the season!! :?:
Personally, you can`t beat the sound of silence on a crisp cold morning, quiet slopes, when all you can hear are your edges carving off the morning snow...Why mess around with the most fab sound on the slopes!!!!Now that gets me stoked and ready to go!!

Not for or against tho really!

Sorry Pav, the tongue will probably involuntarily hang out in frustration and pain on this one!! Made me chuckle!!

I`ve never tuned my skis before, so interested in learning, only recently started waxing etc myself!!
