The reason j2ski is not the #1 ski website (when it should be really) is because it is cliquey. There are no show offs on 'snowheads' but then again there isn't the knowledge on snowheads that there is on so j2ski. J2ski has created a niche in that regard.

j2ski has found good skiers. I ski reds and I'm scared of blacks. I don't feel good enough for this forum and that is how this forum makes people feel.

I won't repeat myself but there are people on this forum who I really admire.

I'm not too sure I'll post again.

Fair points. Didnt realise anyone was linking their skiing ability with the feeling of "welcomeness" (if thats even a word haha) on here? As has been said, theres top level skiers on here and people who have never put their foot in a ski boot
Pretty damn expensive for a days skiing?!

I'd FLY out late friday night after work (or maybe very early saturday morning to save the cost of extra night accomodation)...ski saturday and sunday and then fly back late sunday night!

Probably cheaper as well, with the cheap flights.
I just killed a wasp, hate the b******s!

I'd love to see some figures about what's actually being sold, I know 2 out of 3 pairs skis sold in Chamonix are probably over 100mm but I've met some people who've shopped there and been pretty miserable :D

Much more commonplace in North America really, but fat skis are getting more popular over here. Its much more of a "culture" in Canada and the US though, if you see what i mean.

solo, could you update us on the snow conditions at your other "Premium" destinations :D

Yeahhhhhhh 30cm on grass would be ok, even if you would keep touching the grass though but still, mid September powder, cant really complain

My fattest at the moment are my MSP's, which are also 88mm. I want to get a pair of fat pow skis soon though, so will be over 100mm then :D

Interesting!

Does this mean that those of us with instructor qualifications still cant teach our own family there then? If i was teaching my sister/mum and someone came over and told me that i'd be kinda annoyed, as i an actually teach them. I can understand that they want the only teaching on the slope to be theirs and of their own standard, however good it may be. But dont see why they take someone else doing it, as a basic level of snowplough, so seriously!
