The # 8 is a magic number because we will remember this quizz based on that number and all the things we learned of skiing, of Pavel, of and all the players.. Now you think I've really lost it :wink:
No... I lost it long ago while Ellistine was on the road to Cornwall.
Look at the hints and how often the number 8 came into play. Quite often the number of letters in words I or others suggested have 8 letters; Some words that have 8 letters that come to mind and were "remarks or words" my pellets bounced off to the target are those like; informed, improved, and learning. Did you notice the number of times Pavel typed "HOT" at one point. Yes ... 8 times. Did you notice the number of dots after his phrase of what I told him I had felt after the ski season. I had told him I felt improved, an 8 letter word and one dot for each letter. Do you remember the hint directed to me that what impressed Pavel would lead me to the skis. Maybe he was impressed by me having an "open mind" ... gee that's another 8 letters. So it is the learning and the things that recalls that learning. If you have read this reply I think you will associate the # 8 with a ski quizz where some "guy" from Nova Scotia rambelled on and on with far fetched thinking. There, that's another 8 letter word (thinking)!!! Just like Pavel's hints - I can't stop them.
But remember, I have met our great quizzmaster Pavel - himself!! I have some idea how he thinks. He is always planning. OK you saw that didn't you. planning - 8 more letters Do you think with Pavels quizz I've become ,...a.... obsessed (yeah - 8 letters).

Dean :!: don't leave -- the game isn't over yet :!: I'm just getting warmed up and shifting into a higher gear. When you start talking to yourself it is a sign there is a Pavel quizz underway and when the quizz starts to get very d e e p some people do different things. I, myself, start counting letters and begin to try harder to think more like our quizzmaster. If a fly lands in front of me I feel there is a reason morre than he was just tired. He landed there for a specific reason. Every letter Pavel typed comes under the microscope. Remember a while ago he had a clue with what I'm taking to be a typo? Something like "correct" and it appeared as "correc6t" Was the "6" a clue or was it a typo. I make enough typos so I should recognize them!! Was 6 a magic number. I have a few more thoughts yet and then there is the "good" one I deleted in error which I'm trying to re-construct. Agusl's was along the same line.. And I'll be very suprised if your 4 to 9 are not amoung the magic numbers, Dean. I plan to stick with 4 as one of them right now.
Have you noticed that even on a Sunday the viewing count increases about by 50 so far today. This qiuzz is receiving close to 100 views per day and only about 30 of them are from me :wink:
The answers are extremely simple and like the "internet demo" with the snapping fingers, they are right in front of our noses and we will jump when we see them. If you want to hide something - put it in plain sight :!: Right Pavel :?:
This is so exciting, frustrating and fun - all at once. What a challenge! (too many letters.)

Mike, I am amazed at your dedication to figuring this thing out! Wow, to sit around finding 8 letter words. :)
Pavel, It is fine with me if you end it early. All the better, actually(look! 8 letters;). I will NOT be posting a list. As I don't feel I had any original ideas of substance. I am very much looking forward to receiving the 5th "magic number"!

i agree with deadline change: the sooner the better! there's pretty small chance that i get the 5th number... however, i will make my guess on thursday... im deeply thinking which it will be.
