No harm in giving them a call. I don't think you will lose any money...You'll probably have to pay £35 admin charges and the difference in cost for the holidays. Arinsal in Andorra is cheap and rated as good for beginners.
Sorry, When I was in Bulgaria a couple of years ago at Christmas the snow was superb! So in mid January I'm sure there will be plenty for you and they do have snow making facilities. :D
I recently had to put a holiday forward by three weeks, (it wasn't First Choice but I'm sure to's T&C's are all similar) they charged me £25pp admin fees and the holiday was £5 more expensive that week so they charged me that as well.

'Andorra' has in the past suffered from similar lacks of snow. It is just a gamble.

Most ski resorts have suffered at some point in the past, apart from the snow sure and glaciers. But if you look at the snow history over the past 15 years, Bulgaria is far worse than Arinsal. In fact the average snowfall in Bulgaria when they have enough to ski on at that time of year is not very good at all.
Soldue average 90 54
Borovets average 63 35
In the last 15 years (Mid January) Arinsal has had one very poor year compared to Borovets that has had 7.

Just been thinking, is there a way of changing the date rather than the place. Much better to go in Mid Feb onwards. The reason Bulgarian resorts get bad feedback is that tour companies keep sending people there way too early.
