Dshenberger,
What is crude about great skiing technique!

Are we not in the ski technique section!

Are we not in the famous J2SKI site!

But your comments do bring to mind a famous story about the famous ink blot test (Rorschak I believe)! For the intiated thes are a series of inkblot plates in which a person has to say what he/sees! It is used in clinical psychology! They are by nature "neutral patterns"

The psychiatrist is presenting the plates to a man and as the he gets to the 10th plate, the man says to the psychiatrist, "would you stop showing me these plates,,,they are getting more sexual as we go along"

Dshenbeger, it is all in the eyes of the beholder! To some David is ,,,,,, to others it is beauty!

I happen to dream of great skiing techniques! I am constantly trying to improve! I believe as you age you appreciate more finesse!

Studies have shown that skiing and improving skiing techniques increases life expectancy so I am constantly trying new techniques!

And as Forest Gump would say, " and that is all I have to day" Life is truly a box of chocolates and they are all good!

Poutine (ponounced phouteene) is indeed all that you have said!
The challenge is for people that have never had it,,,it is so good that they eat too much and body can take only so much! The grease, potatoes, cheese clog up and several hours down the round you just can not ski!

The ski demo is NOT at Tremblant this year!

No it is not open to public!

It is on the first week of February
Dave Mac,
As far as last post, it depends on your,,,technique,,ski technique. The medium softness is great when conditions are soft underfoot, with a give!

Those long hard moves however are for other conditions! When you are tired and base is hard!

Both options has its "passions"!

That is the beauty of......skiing! You choose what you want for that moment!

Welcome Sa Trinxa,

Lovely name pick! Nice to have new souls also! I am sure we will learn from you also!

Enjoy you new discovery!
Seriously,

Putting aside all the cues and "double entente" my skis and wife are perhaps the two aspects that have made my life so great!
Perhaps I am a wee bit extreme but selecting a ski,,is as serious as selecting a wife!
Think about it!

May I ask a question?
Do you wipe yours after skiing?
Do you bind it with that famous velcro strap?
Do you do a final swipe with a nylon brush, just to get that structure?
Do you pre-heat before laying the wax?
Some prefer taking it out after serious long "preparation! Do you?
Do you favor the left or right,,,ski

So may questions,,,,so few time!
Jan and Admin,

How do I begin......
First Admin. You are supposed to be the "guard, the controller, the super-ego" of this site! I though I was just on the edge when suggesting the post! I realize others have a more "fertile' mind!
Love this site because of the "sharp minds"

Now Jan,
I understand you do have two young lads! You are supposed to keep a "serious" adult front for at least another 10 years! So if ever they read these suggestions.... ( but they are great, and I did chuckle)

By the way I passed along your boot solution to three skiers going to Colorado! It worked!!! The stares they got was something to see! Thanks

Keep suggestions going; skis and marriage go together like a horse and carriage!

Mike,
beaver Tails in NS? What is the world coming to!

I find I ski better on "empty stomach"! Rarely will I have a full dinner! Perhaps at end of day 1/2 a Beaver Tail with you when we ski together!

Michele lalo,
That poutine which I recommended. It is a like fish and chips places close to roads! The very best one is in the St. Jovite Village ( now called Tremblant). A small road side stand/resto on west side of main street. All locals know it!
Just say, "meilleur poutine"! They will tell you!
Dean,
Or to go to heaven!
