The Cave Bar is prob the only place - go down the road beside the Hotel Austria toward the Hotel Staffler and just as you start to turn the corner the door to the Cave Bar is there. The Sports Cafe gets fairly mad sometimes so its good for before dinner. :) Only one more day to go!

Yep been to O'Malley's a couple of times, think they normally do a bit of live music in there. Only 3 days for me!

I've worked in the civil service for over 16 years. OH and I are relatively new to skiing having only started in 2006. We also have 4 dogs (2 Pointers, 2 cockers) and my other great passion, a horse. Oh, I also have a motorbike but it sits in the garage like a big ornament :D

Thanks karen72, the snow looks fab on Jan's webcam. Dave Mac, no we don't go into Bobo's that much, not at all in January in fact. Usually the Sports Bar, especially this year as Gunther was our instructor. Who is Michael Unger, by the way :?:

Yep, we always have a run down the nursery slopes a few times just to warm up a bit and get the muscle memory working. :D

Me1st,
The kids will be in kids ski school. The red ski school (1st Schischule Wildschonau) is brilliant, we've had lessons with them 4 times now. The youngest we've had in our adult class was 14/15yr olds. |
If you haven't already booked ski school, I'd recommend the 1st Wildschonau Ski School (the reds), their office is in the middle of the village, opposite the Hotel Austria and beside the church, at the bottom of the nursery slopes. They have a website as well and I'm sure if you e-mail them, they'll sort out all your queries. There are "Learn to Ski" packs available through the travel companies, Inghams, Thomson etc. which might be the cheapest option. I can't see any problems with you spectating the ski lessons. In Niederau tiny kids (younger than 5?) seem to go into a little ski fun area at the bottom of the nursery slopes to begin with and handily enough, there's a little bar next door, Bo Bo's, so you can watch from there! :D I don't think there's any problem with taking kids into the bars.
TK Maxx and H & M and possibly Next are good cheap options to buy ski gear - you definately need a ski jacket and salopettes - if they fall over and get wet or it starts to snow, they'll be cold and unhappy very quickly. We also have a local ski/outdoors shop that hires ski stuff. You will LOVE Niederau  |
