Eight of us have booked for Soll Jan 2010. Anyone any tips on the resort? We're staying in the Eggerwirt Hotel which seemed to get good reviews on Trip Advisor. :-)

I think most of the people who are going would prefer Austria so any other suggestions are welcome. We need a resort that's fairly lively with other activities in case the beginners don't take to skiing :(. At the mo we're looking at the Hotel Eggerwirt - anyone stayed there recently? The reviews seem pretty good. The other reason we are considering Soll is cos it links into the Ski Welt area.

Hairy leg competition optional.......

Anyone any views on Soll? A few of us in work are toying with the idea of organising a group holiday to Soll mid Jan next year. There's gonna be around 8-12 of us, with 3 beginners and the rest intermediates. The price from Inghams based on 8 people, 3* HB with lift pass and ski hire is working out at around £660 (just over £700 for the beginners). )

Hmmm, not sure about hiring a car, we've never driven abroad before so it might be a bit risky  The Austrian Railway site seems quite good - I think it works out timetables for you. Thanks :)

Has anyone flown into Munich and then travelled by train to Worgl? We're hoping to get to Niederau and the surrounding area in the summer and I think this is the only airport that we can fly to directly from Belfast. It's definately the cheapest flights I can get anyway. If anyone has travelled this route can you let me know the details? Ta v much!

Hi acarr

Stayed at the Hotel Austria 5 times now - it's in a great location, across the road from the ski school, nursery slopes and gondola. It's also handy to have the ski hire shop and storage right underneath which has access through the hotel. If you're a light sleeper make sure you don't get a room on the church side. The bells seem to ring constantly - once on the quarter past, 2 times on half past and 3 times on quarter to and then 4 times on the hr + the hourly rings (i.e. 5 times for 5 o'clock). It also rings for ages at 6 a.m. every morning (hubby counted 84 times once). The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The resaurant and seating area in reception are no smoking. The pool is open all the time and the sauna and steam room is free on a Mon and Thur but 6.50 euro at any other time.
