Hi!
Does anyone have accomodation on offer for w/c 14/04/07 for two people? Obviously with the date, I'll be looking for somewhere with good snow that time of year, probably France flying in to Geneva airport. It may be for the full week or 4/5 days. Ta! :D |
I tried out my new boots at Xscape (Glasgow) a couple of times before we went to Austria this year and I'm glad I did because the arches of my feet were a bit achey and I was able to deal with the problem before I went on hols. I don't know if it would be any use for trying out new skiis though cos you don't get a long enough run.

Hi Chris
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get your flights to Geneva for? I priced them a couple of days ago with Easy Jet for end March/start April and it worked out about £270!! Helen |
Thanks a lot folks, you've been very helpful. It looks like we might be able to go at the very end of March/start of April now. I will wait until the last minute because I priced Easyjet flights yesterday to Geneva and they were around £270!! :D

I know this is Scotland's forum but thanks guys, La Clusaz is starting to look very promising! Do you guys book it independently? How do you get from Geneva airport to the resort, where's the best place to hire skiis and lift pass and where's the best place to stay? We may be restricted to going about 8th April, will the snow still be good? :-)

Have been to Austria twice to ski (started as a complete beginner) but thinking about going to Scotland for another "fix" before the season ends. Would go abroad but hubby dearest hasn't enough leave left so only four days are possible. Where's the best place to go for intermediate skiing? :)

Hi Donutdjn & Ceefur
You will have a great time learning to ski in Niederau. My hubby and I learnt there last year and have been completely bitten by the ski bug! We were with the Wildschonau Ski School (the reds) and the instructors are fantastic. It was our second visit this year and we've booked again for next year. Everything is pretty close to the village centre - the ski school meeting place, gondola and nursery slopes are all close together. The best tip is to have the mentality of a child when you are learning to ski - have fun and laugh at yourself (and others)! |
Hey Julie
Have been to Niederau twice now and have booked again for next year. Nightlife is ok - the best apres ski bar by far is the Sports Cafe across the road from the gondola and beside the Hotel Austria. It's best to go there straight after skiing. After that your lads could probably go to the Cave Bar which doesn't open until 8.30 pm. |
