This reads okay, but sounds all wrong
Do you think that some of those "lost" 4300 Swiss military weapons were being put to good use ) |
I think you got a good deal. It's a rec. slalom ski. AFAICS the bindings alone are worth more than you paid for the whole setup. Learn to ski these well, and your technique will improve beyond measure everywhere(or spend more time gazing at the sky cause they will bite your bum ) ). They should grip rather well on ice  |
ise in "all skied out" and "just chilling" incident  Could it be that there is a remote possibility that you might be....tired? I would like to propose that you have a rest from the slopes of the Anniviers until, say, the end of the month  AJ I have a sneaking suspicion that the long lunch break for ise started in December 07  |
Oooh, that must have been a tense 2 days
IIRC these were the new servers as well? Thanks for the welcome back, glad you're okay :D |
Well, I was wondering if Tony_H had been through the moulding process (well his feet and boots anyway). :D If not, then there's a chance,as long as the boots are the right size. I watched when OH had his Head boots fitted, the shells were heated in an oven, and the liners heated separately. The shell plastic is quite pliable when hot (and OH reported that it was rather . The boot fitter was physically moulding the cuff round his calfs. He had to work quite quickly and OH was banned from looking down as it would have altered the foot/leg position. He's very happy with his boots though, says that they fit all over his foot nice and close, he's not experienced that before. But then his boots are more than 2 full shoe sizes smaller these days  |
I think your boots are from the Atomic "B" range. They'll be an 80, 90 100, etc designation. They normally fit well for folks who have wide feet with a high instep (well defined arch). Spacious toe box.
My OH tried the B100 for fit and needed a 24.5 for a decent fit. Cracking boot though, I think he was disappointed that the size he needed was'nt available. I believe, IIRC, these have a heat form liner. Were your boot liner's and also possibly the shells heat moulded to your feet, when you had a fitting? The space around the ankle might be taken up by attaching pads to the shell inner. Going for a heel lift via a footbed (padding, carpet tiles whatever)will shorten the achilles tendon, move your balance forward and affect your stance. BTW I'm not a boot fitter, and I can only suggest you get yourself along to see a decent one pronto. |
Pah, it seems ise not only skis faster than me

Hi francesca1 Welcome to the forum. As you are booked on a package, it's reading as though none of this mess is your fault. From where I'm sitting First Choice should be doing all the running around, not you.
If you really want to go on the holiday you have booked, I would be insisting that they provide it, and quoting the Sale of Goods Act, or at least be talking to my local Trading Standards Officer about your rights. I would not worry about having to book a ski package when you get there, all resorts have ski teachers and hire shops. Ironically, as you are now being forced to DIY, it's usually the case that you will get better hire equipment than within the bulk contract from your T.O. If you feel that you'd like to get this sorted before you arrive, perhaps an email to the Tourist Office in the resort would help. Remember, Babelfish is your friend and can provide lots of amusement for the recipient of your request :D http://www.kranjska-gora.si/index.php?i=138 Please let us all know how you get on :D |
