This is very sensible, but may also send a UK motor insurer into a spin. When they recover their composure they may declare it a "modification" and charge you extra on your Policy. Talk to them before you spend any money. Yes, it's a disgrace and nonsense, but insurers are still lumping winter tyre safety together with lowered suspension and boy racer kit.
