Hi All
Anybody been to La Plagne before and which area is best to stay in??Been offered a really good deal for New Year but have choice between Centre or Belle... Any info on the resort would be great. Will probably hire a car as well, so does anyone know about parking there?? Cheers Jo |

Hi
I would definitely back up Chamonix for this one if you are all competent skiiers/boarders.....but I would also wait till later to book accommodation so you can snow chase...! We loved La Clusaz, but snow let it down last year in Jan and may be quiet mid week in Jan in the evenings, suited us girls but prob won`t suit a group of lads!! |
Hi Dave
Thanks for that, but think we may have to go higher for the first of the season, however, will have a look for Jan or Feb. J |
Looked at this, but they have to have separate rooms sadly, as he snores like nothing I have heard before!! Gets too costly when you need 3 rooms, otherwise, would have bitten your arm off!!

Hi Guys
Having visited many resorts now, and always come up trumps with accommodation /price/location I have hit a brick wall on 1 of our trips for this season... We are looking at going away for New Year with 2 friends ...1 male, 1 female...who aren`t together and can`t share a room! We are after either a 3 bedroom apartment or 3 rooms somewhere that take into account 2 single travellers..Or even 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed....We want snow sure, and I prefer France as I speak the lingo! We prefer self catering and a maximum of 10 minute walk to bars etc........Not much to ask for, but any help apreciated as I am slowly going nuts!! Just so you know, we are already going to Courchevel and Zermatt later on so would prefer to avoid these! Oh and 1 of our party has only just started skiing so needs to be gentle for him, while the rest of us are aggressive intermediates! Thx in advance if you can help, if not...anyone got any suggestions for a decent night out in Manchester for New Year!!!!?? Ha Ha. |
It`s come up a few times, But I would definitely choose La Clusaz...Great resort!

Just to add to this thread, I did exactly what Pav said and tried different skis throughout a season after about 12 weeks of skiing behind me. By then I knew exactly what I wanted from a ski and what I was looking for in terms of performance etc, plus I was able to " grow" with the ski by that stage. I would highly recommend that now you have more knowledge, hold off and use this season to test the water so you can make an informed decision. I`m glad I waited, despite being like a child in a sweetshop wanting skis NOW!
