The season starts on Saturday and the snow conditions are fantastic already.

Our lovely chalet apartment has some remaining weeks in January reduced by 50€ per week to 650€ and last minute short breaks at 90€ per night (minimum 3 nights) up until the 24th December. There are fantastic conditions out there with the season commencing on Saturday 13th December . The tourist office is reporting over 50cm of fresh snow in the valley today, and depths of over 150cm. Our apartment is only 200m from the chairlift and also has a pool, sauna and steam room. All prices include linen and towels.
See signature for our website and to book online.

Fog?

Nope,real white stuff!!! :D

Boardbiker, the lifts have greatly improved since 2002. Many of the long steep draglifts and bottlenecks have been upgraded to high speed 6 man chairs. The lifts on the Monetier side haven't changed much unfortunately.

According to a local, there is some snow on the tops. Serre Chevalier is notoriously bad at switching off their webcams, but the one that usually starts up first is at www.esf-serrechevalier1500.com (the ESF in Monetier) which shows the nursery slopes at 1500m. Once the snow starts lying there, I know that winter is here. I don't think they have switched it on just yet though.
