We were discussing the fact that we've never seen so many folks digging for skis in all the years we have skied, as on this trip. Maybe we need a passive reflector for skis. Like a Recco, but the user could follow a reflection of the signal for their own kit.

Elanboy385, contact your dealer, they should be able to get replacements, and refit them.

Oooh, poor Rose  ........You are a very supportive partner, and you have earned big points for your sacrifice )

I would have gone without him!

It's a great snow season, and there is loads of time left, so don't sulk, plan :D

Can anyone tell me if they know of any suppliers in Britain where I could source powder leashes for skis?

And on the theft issue. Is there not a lot of scaremongering going on here. I have been ski-ing abroad for a number of years and none of the parties I have been with have ever had an item stolen.

Maybe its an English thing?

You could be right. Heard this little exchange after the bus ride to Zinal today. Slightly off topic, but it does show just how easy it is.....

The Scene...

English man goes to rack on the back of the postbus picks up a pair of skis and walks over to English woman waiting with poles....

"Are these your skis dear?"......

She replies.....

"Mine are white and very light".....

It was a white (ish) pair

Maybe they are still there trying to decide, didn't see them on the hill.

Can't stop smiling !!!

For asking a poster to clarify (or not) that they went off piste when the avvy warning was at 5/5 I get a 1 star.

What is wrong with with the posters on this forum?

Since folks here clearly think that mountain safety is for tossers, can't see me bothering much FNO.
