This is a run down the arcelle piste in Val d'Isere (with stops!) on Fri 13th Jan 2012. This is using the chest mount and at highest HD setting (1080). Results seem pretty good to me. Very pleased with the camera and looking forward to using it more in April when we are off skiing with the family.

Go easy on comments re. skiing style - I've only got 4 weeks under my belt and the wrong side of 40 these days!!

Fun video.

Out of interest, what did you think of those Rossi skis? Was this your first time on a ski with early rise/tip rocker?

I've been struck by a new batch of Schnapps before. Likewise it had the same effect on the whole group, as we walked home from the Bacchus Celler in Prutz. Luckily we were not wearing oxygen mask at the time.

The reason a smoking ban in bars and restaurants is important, is because bars will not risk losing business by being smoke free. Sounds old fashioned, and you would think a smoke free bar would do well, but no one will take the chance unless all businesses are made to do the same. The big worry for the insurance industry are the claims for smoke related diseases by people who have worked in bars and restaurants. Bars are like any other work place and workers should not be exposed to harmful chemicals. It a changing world.

Relax, there will be plenty of groomed runs. Big ski resorts are customer oriented. They do not want thousands of unhappy groomer skiers never coming back. If it snows in the early hours you may have a few inches of powder on top of the groom, but only in the steeper sections will that get moguled out. Today there was 53 groomed trails groomed at Fernie :D

If there is lots of powder available, then it's an opportunity. Talk to the ski school, rent for one day and get a powder lesson.

A few inches 0f powder on a groomed run is FUN

crispyapplepie wrote:This video is also a prime example of where people stand in the wrong places when skiing ...... Why do people always stop at the top of some lifts, usually drag lifts to re arrange a glove, a pole, a boarder doing up his boot.....?

Just don't get it at all. Move to the side, get out of the way and leave the exit open

It's the same people that stop to talk at the top of an escalator.

Thunder during snowstorms happens occasionally. I think I have heard thunder twice while it has been snowing.

I wouldn't be too worried about using a chair lift, but you wouldn't catch me on a drag lift.

These phoenix holidays people are well dodgy. Ive heard they are trying to start a new company to then buy the old one and start again?

and the thing I love about people like that is that it's never their fault (this time, last time, or even the time before that).

Reading those reviews, you just know there's some wannabe fat cat hiring the cheapest management they can get, and then they'll blame it all on the staff.
