Far Queue,
What works for you,,keep doing it .

Like you I never take boots off during day. That is a good sign.

Ski on,,,
Another "evident" simple procedure you ca practice at home.

Seems simple to buckle boots,,but there is a "ritual" to this.

Always make sure tongue is well centered and WITHIN ski boot shell. Often the tongue is haft in and haft out of shell, creating pressure points.

Note the CENTERED term. Often tongue is off to side.

Then start with first lower buckle. This buckle must never be tight. Just snug

The second and third buckles should also never be very very tight initially ( wait for one or two runs) Let foot mate with boots.

The last top buckle should be snug,,since this is the buckle which cuts blood circulation to toes. DO NOT over torque this buckle.

Practice at home and if toes get numb after 15 minutes,,buckles are too tight.
Found another procedure to practice at home.

How to "put on ski poles" .

Stange how simple it is yet many many beginner skiers have not yet "observated" that ski poles have leather loops near handles.

There is a way to place hands INTO loop so that the leather around wrist "stabilizes" hand on ski pole.

To complicated to describe this procedure here so why not ask or observe how it is done.

Then practice doing it at home.
Ski Graphics - Left & Right.

You will notice that those graphics are mostly on powder/fun park skis!

In powder rare will be the skier that will wear out skis since you tend to be more with vertical motion.

I have a pair of Cochise which have this type of graphics and I do not like it but,,,,,performance forces me to keep skis!

Hope tendency does not spread to other models !

Soon we will have ski pants and jackets that "interface" with ski logos.

The new all together look .

Verbier,
My kind of skier!

Save up your money, just once in a life time heli-ski !
Tony H

You are right. You can however dream for,,,,,
You can decide to take "some time off" and just take 2 months of,,,

It is possible.

Tony, my freedom is also "hard earned". When I was in +60c weather with sand blowing all around what did you think I thought about.

Yes getting out!

If you are a "skier skier" rather than a tourist skier may I suggest the interior of BC where you can go to several centers over a 10 day period. This is much better than Whistler where you will really get the tourist skier.

Please do not feel I am saying one is better than the other. Each has it "pleasures". You just have to know what you want in skiing.

I go to ski,,,period. Thus my very first parameter to consider is ski variability, conditions and challenge. I do not care for; parties, socials at bar, shopping, slides, dog sledding, high wire slides etc,,, I can do all those at home.

Look up Panorama, Big White, Fernie, at others in that area. Great skiing.

That is just my opinion.

Smokey Barr,

A friend that has a ski shop just bought a unit made from a Russian video simulation company.

Tested the unit and found it is very realistic and does make a skier learn the correct position.

I had 50 skiers try it and found the instructor identified very quickly most of the errors for each skier. No jacket, pants etc,,,so you see well all body parts.

Enjoy yourself.
