Dave M, whats a munro-bagger?

aye Rose, I can hear the brain popping!

They are mountains over 3000 ft. There are around 284 of them in Scotland, Ross will correct me, and named after Sir Hugh Munro, the first person to climb them all.

Some of them are easy strolls, some are life-threatening, in the wrong conditions. Actually, I suppose they can all be LT if the conditions are wrong.

Mountains over 2,500 ft, (or foothills, as my Austrian friends call them!), are called Corbetts, after John Rooke Corbett. They must have a drop of 500 ft between them to qualify. 221 0f these

A mountain over 2000 ft is called a Graham. Min drop between peaks is 150m, and there are 224 of them.

There are a lot of other named categories, including "Wainwrights"

Well I never you learn something every day

Fab photos.... I must have been standing right next to you during the ski show, 'cause I've got an almost identical photo from the same angle!! Did you hear about the ski instructor who fell as she came down for that last run? Apparently she broke her leg/femur and had to have an operation that same night

Right... I might go and try to upload some photos on to facebook now!

Thanks for the replies, looking very positive now.

I am 99.9% certain that if you can pick up the three signal on the phone you will at least be able to get dial up speed browsing on the usb modem. If you were picking up a 3G signal then I will get full speed broadband on the data card.

Been on to three today to get my monthly limit lifted from 1GB to 5GB for one month only. Cost something like £2.43 extra, bargain!!!! making a total of £7.30 odd for the month. (Should be able to fall to sleep watching UK TV on the slingbox with the 5GB.)
You have to give notice of this becuase upgrade starts with your next bill. I will report how it goes whilst I am there, hopefully on the USB card or piggy backing on an unlocked wireless link.

Mark, I have 3g on my laptop, do you have to do anything, such as register prior to going to Austria?

Or does everything work just the same as in the UK?
