that's a great bit of work for half an hour )
Honestly?
That kind of thing doesnt float my boat at all. I spend summers on beaches in greek islands, and the thought of biking up mountains and not seeing the sea depresses me.
However, Jan informs me the biking up there is great.
I understand thats the same for many ski resorts in the summer.

That was a very detailed and honest report.
I must admit I too have my reservations about Niederau being such a small resort, But, saying that, I think after your report it is definitly the right choice for our first time skiing holiday as a family, my first skiing away for 18 years and my nephews first ski trip after 1 week ski school last year. I think it will be "just the job".
It has also helped me when you mentioned about the cold as I dont think I would have packed as many jumpers for the kids that they would need. I definitily think with them being on the beginner slopes, and my youngest especially feels the cold a lot compared to my oldest. the only experience I have got to go on is what I vaguely remember looking back with my rose coloured specs of nearly 20 years ago.
I think you put some good points across without sounding rude. Like you say it is horses for courses and while some people will like to ski in a small area and get to know it, others will like to ski a new run every day. I guess that is why most resorts are different.
Well I am still very much looking forward to our trip away. I will probalby be so knackered by day 2 I will be spending the rest of the week in my chalet room trying to recover lol
The only thing that worries me is if me and nephew are skiing down a run and it gets too steep, I can see us coming down on our bums lol

The steeper runs are particularly wide there, so anyone can traverse across them, provided they are competent enough. Ski schools were coming down the reds up there generally speaking.karen72 wrote:

Ross you just beat me to saying the same thing. Tony, what would you reckon to Niederau as a summer or even autumn break. We love walking, would there be enough for us to do at those times without the skiing. Just a chill out week.
