It was sooooo good, Im absolutely distraught at being back....does anyone have any tips on how to recover from ski-sickness?!! Had such a brilliant time, the snow was great esp in the mornings (bit icy in the afternoons), but the snow over in Auffach was amazing all day.
I tackled my first black run which was a GREAT feeling (and I only decked it the once on there!!!)
There was an international (so we were told) ski race there on Friday+Saturday so we got to watch some great skiiers and were very proud of our little selves for having done the same run as them (even if what took them 1 minute took us about 30!)!!!
The village and people were as friendly as ever, it was nice going back after only being there once and having people remember you!! I think I may even have seen Jan (I saw someone in an Auhof jacket), but was to shy to go say hi in case it wasnt!!!!
Im now pining over the photos wishing I was still there, Im VERY jealous of you caron-a!!!!! I hope you have as brilliant a time as we did (which Im sure you will!)
Say hi to Ray (the crazy Irish dude at O'Malleys) and ask him if he has had the funeral for his snowboard yet!!!
Argh...Im so jealous of you guys still waiting to go!!! Back to work monday for me!!!
book another ski holiday asap!
brilliant news geordieski, I'm so pleased for you. do you think you'll go back next year (or later this year???) or will you try somewhere new?
I'm just back (last night) as well - this was my first ski trip ever and I am absolutely hooked. I Last saw Ray boarding down blue 21 to the bar at the bottom - dressed head to foot in a leprechaun suit - What a character :)
I've got some photo's that I'll try to post later with a beginners report - so no blacks and only one red ;)

prepare for life never to be the same again
look forward to the photos

Amanda, the Schneeburger is 30m from the supermarket, and the bank/cashpoint is another 20m.
Janbail, where are you staying in Niederau? I arrive on the 16th
