We were founded over 140 years ago. We print mostly medical and academic journals.
Equipment wise all our Litho presses are Heidelberg. We currently have;
4x 2 colour 102 Speedmasters,
2x 4 colour 102 Speedmasters
2 colour 74 Speedmaster
5 colour 74 Speedmaster
As far as digital goes we have a couple of mono Kodak Digimasters, a Xerox iGen3 colour printer (megamoney!) and an Oce Variostream web fed digital press (800 A4 pages per minute!!!)
We also were the first in the UK to go 'computer to plate' back in 1995. That was my baby.
If you go to http://www.henryling.co.uk/ and then click 'about us' you'll see a much younger and thinner version of myself holding an award for best product printed using computer to plate. This class no longer exists as it's no longer a new technology.
Can't believe I'm taking about work on a Ski forum!!
The other good thing about Heidelberg is that one of their UK HQ's is in Tamworth which is where one our our 'real snow' indoor slopes is. In three weeks time I'm going up for an afternoon demo. The morning however, will be spent skiing!

WOW !! Those numbers are really magical. What do you suppose the chances, or probablility of three people involved in Pavel's quizz with printing industry connections. Let's see the bell curve on that one !!!
And another thought,: Pavel has two good sources should he wish to publish his index in book form. Two sources that will take a solid interest in the project.
My connection with the printing industry ceased long ago. My father sold the shop to downtown renovation of the historic downtown concerns long ago and the equipment was given to his chief printer to continue on his own. The shop location is now a main entrance to what was developed (or restored). You can still see where the typsetting (hot lead) machine stood. I'll get a look at your site shortle Ellistine - thanks. For a look at Halifax try these web cams at www.halifaxwebcam.ca The are additional cameras on the Chebucto Net showing the harbour as well.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all get together some day for a skiing adventure. The magic of Pavel's numbers --- will not be forgotten. Where do you ski in New England Dean? Sunday River? Stowe? Attitash? (forgive my spelling). You are blessed with so many hills in that area.

1- 1.69 meter: ski lenght. related to our height, style and ability level.
2- 18 meters: turning radius. sky style.
3- 118/85/109: ski dimensions. tells us about ski style, capacities in each terrain and how they float on powder.
4- edge bevel angle: related to ski agression and style.
5- my final last number guess is the following: probability of a ski being the best for me. i mean, if i´m planning to buy X ski, i should look it up in pavel´s index (regarding my ski level too) and see what my chances are with that ski.
cya all. good luck in your answers, hope someone gets it.
great quiz pavel, very interesting!

Thanks for your choice of numbers.
Excellent choice! Hope you have a great "winter" down south!
Just had great idea! All my ski equipement is tucked away gathering dust! We should have away to "maximize" the use of our ski material by shipping you all stuff!
I know we should get together and by a Bombardier executive jet and use it to visit "local" ski areas. My son who works for Bombardier tells me that Tom Cruise's old jet is on the market for 1.8 million. When I win my 15 million I promise you all a trip to visit Agus and sho him how Rossignols Mutix fly down the hill.
In fact all of you will get a set of Mutix!!!!
Deadline is fast approaching. Anyone on the net can enter into this quiz so feel free to enter your 5 numbers and perhaps get a pair of Mutix!
Friday the answers will be posted!

Now I am thinking I have really banged my forehead too hard !!! My eyes must deceive me!
Am I reading correctly. You are going to swing past NS in your private jet and take us to meet Agus??? Ohh won't that be great guys !!!
And with a new pair of Mutix skiis too???? Wow ... you got to love the Pavel Quizz guys!!!
You see Santa come from Canada after all ... but I learned that after the first quizz. Atomic 9.20 stallions were the prize that time. Still a great ski!
Pavel, you're just too good :!: A great quizz, a ride in your executive jet and a pair of Mutix skis ... thanks so much!!!!
Mike
PS: Can't wait for the answers, Let me know when I should pack my bags !!

Although physically located somewhere in London the server is currently running in European time. This is due, of course, to it being an International Machine of Mystery - and not just because it's always been like that...
As the competition ends at midnight "J2SKI Time" (I did get that number right didn't I Pavel?), our visitors in England need to post their final answers by 11:00 p.m. UK time. Synchronize watches.
I strongly suspect the post mortem will run for almost as long again, once Pavel reveals all... off to think of my numbers now!
