I am writing this post from Cervinia and while it would not be my first choice for a few days in December if the Alps were covered in snow, we are having a great time!
We got here yesterday afternoon and only managed one run for the very top back to the village which was very windy and not great at all.
Today was great though with lots of sun and pretty empty pistes. Cervinia is never going to challenge a skier too much but it was a very enjoyable day carving down empty slopes in the sun.
Great food and €5 for a beer is another reason why skiing in Italy makes a lot if sense to me.
Where is all the snow?

Well done for finding some snow and I'm really pleased you're having a great time :)
Thanks Ally, good to be able to spread a positive ski story at the moment!
i loved Soldue, not been there since 1989 but i have great memories, is Fat Alberts still going?

1500m of vertical in Mid December, great place to learn/refine your carving trade. Epic early season resort.

We are all fools. How did we miss Cervinia? Why do I not live in Cervinia? Why did I not buy my season pass for Cervinia? Damn.

Well the snow is plentiful and grippy in Soldeu. Just had 3 great days on it!
