Must admit that it was a bit scary to think our holiday was nearly ruined back in 2007 but for the snow cannons in Scheffau, god only knows how they managed it but like the previous post stated about Schaldming they kept runs open when everywhere surrounding was green.
Après ski did seem to start earlier in the day that year for some reason.

I'm going to Soll in the morning and agree that yeah it doesn't look great but better than 2007. That said in 2007 all the runs were open even down to the valley, it just didn't look as pretty.

This is why I always book high altitude skiing I have to say. I wouldn't want to be facing what you guys are going out to lower resorts this coming week, or those out there this week. It must be really disappointing.

One place in the Alps that won't be short of snow next week is Tignes! It goes up a long way above the town and max temperatures should be below zero (at resort level) by around mid-week.

Pistes lower down might be hard'n'fast the first few mornings but you'll get some great skiing in under blue skies with a bit of luck.
