Trencher, they make some cool stuff...

Just don't like the retro style stuff.

I think the Spyder girls stuff looks great! I love seeing them in line in front of me. :)

There stuff seems to be very well made, and I haven't thought the price was that far out. Although, I am now into Arc'teryx. Talk about pricey!!! But, it is such great stuff.

Personally, I always hated the Spyder stuff. I always associate it with fat German men, as thats all I used to see wearing it, with the horrible web designs etc. Very expensive stuff, pretty technical clothing, but in my opinion unattractive. This years range is a vast improvement, but its still not to my taste, and also drastically over priced IMO.
Ellistine has got a nice Spyder jacket though.

Why thankyou.

I'll be the first to admit that a lot of Spyder stuff is "timeless" but it's good gear if a tad on the heavy side.

Spyder certainly had a stuffy snob image on this side of the pond

Well I wish someone would have said that before I bought 2 Spyder jackets and 1 pr of matching pants on ebay :?

Even worse while doing a little searching just now I found out that the ones I got are known "fake" Spyder jackets :(

That being said I paid $150 for all 3 items, if they are fake they are good fakes, everything about them seem quality, they are water proof (just put a sleeve in a sink full of water for ~15 minutes and it didn't seep through) and very warm, tones of pockets w/quality zippers, removable sleeves & hood. The inner and outer lining looks nice and the jackets have an inner rubber "gator" type liner to keep snow out.

I don't think I could find a waterproof jacket of any quality for less than $50, I guess I'll find out how long they last.

That's the snowboarder in me comming out. If ever I got a comment about those darn snowboarders, it was often a spyder wearing skier )

The red Spyder jackets with a little white/black striping were the Barber jacket of the US ski world. Americans generally don't notice the little nuances of dress like Brits do, but those red jackets definately had snob value for many. I don't say this with any contempt, just a social behaviour observation.

because I'm so inclined .....

Does anybody know if the stuff from the Spyder Ski Store in Yorkshire is genuine. They sell some of the more low key stuff and describe it as previous season's stock. Price is okay for real but damned high for fake!
