I look for how waterproof it is (5k, 10k, 15k) not that I really understand what it means or how different a 5k would be from a 15k, I don't tend to ski in the rain anyways. A lot of people look for breathability but the number tends to come with the waterproofing and how breathable can something been when wet (I believe ise made this point a few months back).

I like arm vents for when it gets real hot and a decent hood for over the helmet if it can allow. Also a 'powder skirt' to keep the snow out but they aren't all that good anyways hence my want for bib pants or a onesy. Colour is pretty important.

i always go for colour first then read the features, i don't really understand the water level thing, as long as it says it is windproof, waterproof and breathable i would buy it, snow skirt are a must to keep the draft out.

I bought a columbia branded one for xmas and to be fair it has been fine but i left it late and could only get navy, so when i spotted the brown set i had to have it,

i will rate my nike on return, if you dont hear anything you know i froze to death
age is but a number but why does it have to keep going up !!

ise, can you come in with your bit about breathability? Some jackets are more waterproof than others.

They are, but most people buy what they think they'll look best in :D

The thing with fake Spyder gear is to ask why it's so common, you don't get fake North Face gear or Haglofs. I reckon fakes work best where the original is overpriced in terms of the performance and materials.

I see Spyder are starting to do some decent gear but it'll take forever to lose that image, fat, middle aged, toupe wearing, never left the piste other than by accident and over equipped

I think sponsoring CR Johnson might be a start...

Yes you do, try a Google search on Fake North Face jackets and you will see. Plenty of pages to read.

You ca spot the fake North Face jackets a mile off. Most of the puffa jackets you see in the rough parts of certain towns are fake ones bought off the local market.
