This post isnt meant to annoy skiers or poke fun, becuase there is nothing like carving down at speed. I just hope that it motivates someone, at least one person, to take up baording so that they can feel that undescibable feeling of floating down the mountian on pow pow.

I take it you like boarding then

I love skiing, baording, snow! I love the mountains and the cold and the apres. I am literally an adict. I go for at least 3 trips a year. if i ever get gardening leave I am gonna do a season in canada or the US.

But I love fresh powder the most of all! :D

Hopefully you won't get gardening leave just yet , but enjoy your skiing.

I very rarely visit this forum but through following a new topic that was sent to my email box I came across this topic about snowboarders. I have been skiing for many years and thoroughly loved it but my husband who is younger than me wanted a go at snowboarding. At the time I was 57 years old and thought it a bit daft to be learning something that looked pretty dangerous but gave it a go anyway. It was the most difficult thing I have ever tried but I perservered and after many very painful falls I started to enjoy it once I got the hang of it. Now when we go on our holidays I actually find skiing rather boring and end up boarding most of the holidays as it is more challenging and more fun. I am a 62 year old woman now and probably don't have many years left as a boarder, but I will always be pleased that I gave it a go and somewhat mastered it.

Thanks for giving me a laugh. I did forget how much I missed reading this forum. In saying that, I'm sending the link to my daughter( skiier turned snowboarder)
mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!
