My dad's 57 and he took up skiing this past season and did it with a new hip. Last year I had one of my guests ski for her 88th birthday!

We had a customer in his early 70's stay with us, he had started skiing at 69 and loved it. I think because he was so keen it did help him to progress but he was comfortable skiing blue and easy red runs. Our oldest customers are in their early 80's. They don't ski all day any more but I think it is probably the local Mutzig at lunch time that is stopping them.

I think your mom will still have the guts and strength to ski. Based from your post, I think your mom is physically fit. Skiing could really help your mom improve her flexibility and balance. Try to take her to lessons. There are ski resorts which offers lessons at any age. )
