Too old to take up skiing

My OH took up skiing at 57. Last year we met a woman who had decided to learn when she turned 70. She was having private lessons with an instructor and he seemed to be incredibly patient and kind. I think she got on fine. You're never too old to try something new (in fact it's good for the brain to take on new challenges).

i refuse to be brought down to that level on this newbies thread i am behaving ) :wink:

but i have 22 years before i hit 59 !


Ps Steve i think it is brill you are taking your mum with you, i have tried to get my mam and dad to austria with me even to do the non ski-ing sleigh rides etc activities but they wont,

That's fantastic. My OH just cannot be persuaded of how fantastic skiing is. He has never been to europe, only one day in Glencoe. I don't think I will ever get him to go now. I would love to get him there, but me thinks it will never happen.

Have you thought that they might not want to go to Austria, try offering them France or Italy I'm sure they would then jump at the chance 8)

Mam will only go on holiday to the Black Forest Germany area, she will only go in the car and doesnt do hotels because europeans, as she calls them, not me are big pet lovers and most hotels allow pets so she stays in a chalet takes her own bedding and first thing she does it clean it top to bottom. it drives me mad. when she visits me i have to put pips in the kennel outside and make sure its hoovered so she doesnt have any hairs on her and she wont have a cuppa either brings a flask, love her to bits but annoying

Funnily enough it doesn't annoy me, I find it funny. It irritates the life out of my sister though.
