Make the most of your new found enjoyment, and have a fantastic holiday, keep having the lessons and the confidence will follow.

Hi, yes i hope so, when we started last year we went to romania and spent a week in ski school. one of my 'problems' was that i moaned about the skis being too long for me. i really did not know and no one told me that you could actually get a shorter ski!!! doh. have now tried a shorter ski and felt more confident, (well a little more). can anyone tell me if i will be able to request these at ski hire. last year while waiting turn and turn in ski school my ski's got bunged up and i was unable to kick it off, our instructor said she would have them waxed. i had no idea what a di
fference this would make, they took on a life of their own, never again. bridget jones had nothing on me.

Do you remember the length of ski you preferred, in the ski hire shop inspect the gear that they are giving you and do not except poor quality, your paying top dollar and they should be delivering a quality service 8)

i tried the shorter ski on the dry ski slope and i felt much happier with it. can you please tell me if there is some kind of assessment for the length of ski you are given. what does it depend on. thank you.

I would talk to the ski shop, but the ski tip should come up to your chin or in my case chin's

right, thanks for that, ski from ground to chin level will remember when i go to collect from ski hire. thanks.

Could even be two to three inches shorter than chin height, with no detriment to your skiing.

Hi Steve3502, how did your mum get on, did she enjoy the experience, is she hooked. as i said previously we took skiing up at 57yrs now 59 and both of us absolutely love it. have started to look for next yr think we will go back to Niederiu but prices still very high. we try to go each week to chill factor, husband still learning but coming on fantastic, me trailing behind somewhat. but everytime that ski lift pass times out i want to be out there again. love it, hope your mum did to.
