Feel pretty educated now, so no longer stressing about if there's enough or the quality of the runs! I dont mind skiing the same few runs as long as they are decent enough, and like someone else said no 2 runs are ever the same, different lines/angles, bumps & tree's can make anything interesting. My main concern was everywhere that i looked had it down as a beginners only resort, but after reading all your comments i now that that is not the case, and if i do get bored of what the Wildschönau has to offer i can easily do a day or two at Hopfgarten or even poss Soll! Think it makes sense for me and 2/3 of the others to look at lift passes for the skiwelt and the begginers to play it by ear. But i am very happy now that we have booked up the right resort for our group! Last question, if the none skiier of the group wants to get on the gondola and maybe meet us up the mountain for lunch what are our options and will they need a lift pass??

Hmmm... I've heard people claim that you can buy 'credits' for the lifts and they get deducted each time lift is used e.g. the gondola may cost 2 units. Saying that I've never seen any actual evidence of this system. Dave Mac's your guy. If he hasn't heard of it then it doesn't exist.
There are a couple of places you could meet up on the mountain for lunch, two of which are just off the gondola itself. If your non-skier doesn't mind walking then you could also meet by the hut at the bottom of the top blue run. They will need to walk back uphill to get back to the gondola though. Failing that you could just use the huts at the bottom of the slopes in the village to meet for lunch.

I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

Non-skiers can buy an up and down ticket, or a half day ticket.
Top of the lift:
1) Turn right, 150m, is an old Jochalm, locally known as "Rudis". Rudi is beyond living memory. Very old, with character, often smoky.
2) Turn right 50m, right again, the Panorama, modern, little character.
3) Turn left, 50m, sit outside a tent-like thing.
4) Turn left, 100m, left steep downhill 20m, use sticks, the Rubezahl, old, open fireplace, greta character.
5) In good weather, turn left walk 1/2 mile, the Kropfraderjoch Alm. Self service, sit inside, or outside and look across the Kitzbüheleralpen. Fabulous views.
