Have been unable to download the big picture, so cannot see the Hotels.
However:
The lift was the first chairlift in Tirol, built by Ingineer Sepp Hochmuth, who only had one arm. The story is that the other was shot off during the war! The building of the lift was Niederau's response to the Tirol's element of the Marshall plan, (The after war Re-build plan) The plan was orchestrated by the major of Alpbach.
I think the build year was 1947.
So my guess is 1948.

Jan: ha! I knew I was close!
And Dave Mac, if you can quote the Marshall Plan, then we'll have lots to talk about (yawn, say J2skiers!) L.

I hae just found out today that I have been made redundant, too bad the position is filled !!!!
Since I am now returning to being a mum at home and we have a trip booked to Kitzbuhel from 14th to 21st Feb I would love to get over to Austria a week early (yep, even going to pull the kids out of school for this one!!!)now that I do not have to worry about getting back to work
Does anyone know of accommodation available in Niederau from 7th to 14th (checking out morning of 14th) Feb? Asking a bit much I know but here's hoping
thx
Carol

So, if anyone is interested in this job or knows anyone who might like to apply, please PM with you (their) details.
As a sweetener, I cover flight costs too :)

Ok, I can apply.
I am a great cook, can tell stories till the coos come home, and can nearly keep up with Jan on the Schnapps. Well, I lied about the last bit. And probably most of the stories are well developed truths.
Here are my ts&cs.
I will be available for work, anytime outside the hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm. plus say an extra 15min to shower. And a half hour recuperation snooze.
What d'ya think Jan? Irresistable offer?
