I ski them and for me they are a great ski that can handle pretty much anything you throw at them.

Cheers

I agree. Rossi's bandit is quite a heavy ski and that helps make it feel very stable while remaining responsive at speed, an excellent all rounder. A good ski to progress from intermediate to advanced. 8)
A day without Ski's on is a day wasted.

Bandit SC80 is a ski I considerd for myself, and mentioned it to MFC on an email as well. He was being pushed towards K2's at the time I believe.

Had a couple of hours at MK today. One of the skis I took out was the Fischer Watea 84 in 173. Nice stable ski, will cruise GS style, but can cope with short choppy turns and it's possible to wash the tails out nice and easy. I suspect they would be super stable off piste and in slush.
Rental bindings weigh a ton, and make the underfoot area feel lifeless. Good ski, though I do prefer my Punishers as they are more lively :D

Missions are exactly the same last year as this, apart from the graphics. I bet you like these.

mfc, the Missions and the K2 Explorer are not in their 1st year of production, so you can decide which you prefer and see if you can find last year's paint job etc. Not sure about the Sallies, Admin??

Heres what EB say about them:

Salomon - versatile ski for advanced skiers, wood core, smooth on piste and at 120 in the tip and 78 in the waist has a good shovel for off piste but a decent sidecut on piste. "The ultimate high speed cruiser for good skiers".
Bandit wouldnt like it, too "pistey" )

K2 - they dont stock the Explorer. I thought you were looking at Apache Recons? Similar dimensions to the Salomon, grippy on piste and good over deep snow, versatile ski. They also do the Apache Raider, same dimensions at the Recon but a more forgivign ride and a lot less money too! More suited to on piste and for people looking to venture occaisionally off, might be more up your street? Both 78 in the waist.
SnR do the Xplorer though and they report it as being ideal on and off piste. K2 skis tend to be heavyish. 128 at the top and 84 in the waist so should be fun on the pistes.

Scott Mission - full wood core, lively and grippy. Wider at 128/89/115 but a decent sidecut means it performs brilliantly on piste for a fatter ski but floats better in the pow. "The ideal option for confident intermediates looking for their first freeride ski to start exploring"

I bet you look at the Scott's and think: too wide. I did too, I was fixed on having Scott Neo's but its the sidecut on these which is important, and the reviews from EVERYONE are that they perform superbly on any kind of snow. That sold it for me, plus the ability to progress with off piste and powder now or in the future without having to buy more new skis later on, whereas something like your Salomons there are more piste skis.

If I have got it right, you want a good piste ski that is versatile enough to go with you when you venture off piste now and then or have a muck around with out without the Mrs. I know EXACTLY what you mean by all that, and I opted for the Missions, even over my favoured Neo's in the end after speaking to a number of people on here and also some experts in shops around the UK.
I'm not trying to convince you, you'll see when you test them out yourself, but you might end up thinking that the Missions just give you more options. AND everyone says what a great ride they are.

Have a fun day anyway, rather be doing what you are mate!! )
