Eggman, it sounds like your feet are pretty much the same as mine!

What's the obession with specific ski socks and no ski tubes? I tried those thin ski socks, and by the end of the day, my toes had gone blue and numb.

I've never had any issue with ski tubes whatsoever.

In that case your boots probably don't fit correctly ;)

Hi Gadgetgirl,
I must say it had crossed my mind that maybe I damaged my toe because I was wearing the correct thin ski socks instead of the tube ones I usually wear. I've never had a problem with my feet in hired boots before. Maybe the thicker socks are better with hired boots which haven't been specially adapted to fit ones feet. I don't know. Anyway, it seems like a subject with plenty of debate miles in it

My boots are very comfortable  I could only have boots that open up at the back sufficiently, as I have a weak ankle which often feels like it's going to snap when trying to remove it from most boots.

I have rubbish circulation, so even now my fingers are cold, despite it being 23C in here! I found the thin ski socks just don't give enough insulation.

My tubes have a heel and toe bit, so are not quite tubes, but are definitely a lot warmer!

In the past i have never really worried too much about socks, but I must say that I have never worn tubes, but Pablo put me on to Smart wool socks and I gotta
say that they kept my little pinkies nice and warm so a good investment at £17 a pair 8)

You can get thicker ski specific socks too.

Gadgetgirl, we have two family members with poor circulation - one with Reynaud's Syndrome - and they were both very much helped by acupuncture. I know it sounds a bit strange, but several sessions made a big improvement. So, if this issue is causing you problems generally, you might like to consider acupuncture? It is expensive, but they reckon it was well worth it.

And also, I thought they sold electric boot warmers - but maybe you have to have special boots for them and they wouldn't fit in yours - I don't know.
